William N. Cain, Jr., 78 of Mercer Rd., Pleasant Grove, OH died Sat., Mar. 5, 2005 at home. He was born Jan. 17, 1926 in Yorkville, OH a son of the late William N. and Pearl (Morgan) Cain, Sr. He was retired from United Dairy, Inc., Martins Ferry where he worked for 42 years; and a member of United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove; V.F.W. Post #8848, Colerain; American Legion Post #38, Martins Ferry; Past Commander of the former V.F.W. Post #3613, Martins Ferry where he organized the Voice of Democracy Scholarship Fund, and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death my his wife Dolores J. (Dye) Cain, two sisters Helen Bectal and Julie Novak and a great granddaughter Victoria Jean Cain. Surviving are three sons David Cain of Piedmont, Rick Cain and Dan Cain both of Pleasant Grove, a daughter Sandy McEndree of Holmesville, a brother Ernie Cain and his wife Barbara of Rayland, four sisters Pauline Boggs of TX, Jacklyn Davenport of Hopedale, Mondy Cain of Bellaire and Buelah Cain of Cadiz, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Friends will be received Mon., 6-8 PM and Tues., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Mar. 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Elaine Cutlip officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Colerain V.F.W. services will be held Tues. at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W.
