CERMAK, William ?Bill? Edward, 69, of Dillonvale, Ohio, died Sunday January 8, 2012 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on June 2, 1942, a son of the late Edward and Anna Vlcek Cermak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Cermak Rodak. Bill was a retired employee of Consolidated Coal Company; Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post #529 where he was a member for 45 years and served as commander for 25 years; Lifetime Member VFW Post #4811; member of Dillonvale-Mt. Pleasant Lions Club; member of Pine Valley Sportsman's Club for 44 years:; Commissioner of American Legion to the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission for 19 years; Smithfield Township Trustee for 20 years; member of St. Adalberts Catholic Church and the church choir for 21 years; and a very proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and a wonderful friend to so many. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marianne C. Kujawa Cermak; a daughter Karianne M. Cermak; two sons: Daniel W. Cermak (Kimberly A.), William E. Cermak Jr. (Tynae), all of Dillonvale; a sister: Linda Cermak Kocan (Mark) of Towanda, Pa.; five grandchildren: Karacel Hayman, Anna and Daniel Cermak, Brody and Gage Cermak; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday January 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Dillonvale, with Msgr. John C. Kolesar, as celebrant. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the Dillonvale American Legion, McCook Post 529, at Holly Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel, following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either: St. Adalberts Youth Group or American Legion Gifts for Yanks.
