Obituary

William R."Dick" Williams, 86, of Scotch Ridge, Martins Ferry, OH, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Jan. 22, 1927 in Mt. Lebanon, PA a son of the late William Williams and Sarah (Hinkle) McKim. Bill retired from the Yorkville plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church, Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A.M., of Martins Ferry, where he served three terms as Worshipful Master, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, WV and Yorkville Post #4811 VFW. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father Dewey McKim, his daughter Linda Kasun, and sisters; Polly Warner and Joann Williams. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Jessie L. (Finney) Williams, daughters: Peggy (Brad) Law of Bluffton, SC and Pam (Jeff) Dull of Cicero, IN, son-in-law, Matthew Kasun of Moundsville, WV, brother, Kenneth (Barbara) McKim of Scotch Ridge, grandchildren; Mandy(Mike) Shebeck, Summer Shrieve, Jamie Lee, Bryan (Claudia) Law, Peggy (Talbot) Gee, Wendy (Joe) Notarantonio and Elizabeth (Chris) Schramm, and ten great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm where services will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating. Burial follows in Scotch Ridge Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Friday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by the Belmont County V.F.W. Honor Guard at 10:45 am at the funeral home prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church or Scotch Ridge Cemetery.
