William S. Holbrook, 75, of N. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH, died Jan. 25, 2010, at Echo Manor, Pickerington, OH. He was born Feb. 11, 1934 in Martins Ferry the only child of the late William H. and Isabel (Selby) Holbrook. He was a 1952 graduate of Martins Ferry High School, a 1956 graduate of the Ohio State University, and was a lifetime member of the Ohio State University Alumni Assoc. Bill retired as a Vice-President of Citizens Savings Bank of Martins Ferry. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, an honorary member of the Martins Ferry Vol. Fire Dept, Alert Engine Co., a long time trustee of the Martins Ferry Public Library, past president of the Martins Ferry Lions Club, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife of 53 years Madelyn (Kemo) Holbrook, two daughters Laurie A. (Craig) Morgan of Pickerington, OH and Lisa Holbrook (Robert) White of Kansas City, MO, and two grandsons Benjamin W. (Nicole) Karrasch and Jared G. Karrasch. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Deacons of the church will hold services Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
