Obituary

William "Bill" Zamski, 85, of Dillonvale passed away suddenly on Friday, May 17, 2024. He was born on February 28, 1939, in Long Run, Ohio and was the son of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Miller) Zamski. Bill worked in the coal mining industry for over 38 years and was the General Mine Foreman for Consolidation Coal Company at Shoemaker Mine in Benwood, West Virginia, along with several other locations. He was a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church of Dillonvale, graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1957 and was a member of Short Creek Sportsman's Club. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. But more than anything else, Bill was a devoted family man. He loved following his children's and grandchildren's sporting and scholastic events. He could be heard throughout the stadium cheering for his loved ones. Adored by many, Bill had a humble, natural gift to associate with people. He never knew a stranger. His patience and demeanor could not be matched. He will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Quite frankly, Bill was the person that all should aspire to be.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Das, and Patricia Jeskey; and stepmother, Emma (Duda) Zamski.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Lou (Plewniak) Zamski; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Fennell of Pittsburgh; brother, Theodore "Ted" Zamskie of Parma; sister, Carol Marzetz of Gahanna; brother, Gary Zamski of Emerson; daughter, Jill Zinni (Dan) of Dublin; son, William Todd Zamski (Patricia Stafford) of Hartville; daughter, Beth Ann Piccin (John) of Dublin; grandchildren, Tanner (Suzie D'Isidoro) Zinni, Tyler Zamski, Alyssa Zamski, Trip Zinni, and William Piccin; a great granddaughter, Peyton Emma Zinni who is expected in June; along with many nieces and nephews; Godchildren and friends.  Also, very special to Bill were his grand dogs, Bella, Buttercup, Nash, and Cash, that he immensely enjoyed.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 23 from 2-7 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio 43917. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 24 at 10 am in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, 39 Smithfield St., Dillonvale, with Father Chester Pabin officiating.
