TOGETHER AGAIN: William C. Pahl, 89, of Bridgeport, OH died November 9, 2017 in Columbus, OH. He was born August 13, 1928, in Brooklyn NY, a son of the late Caston C. and Mabel (Boston) Pahl. He retired after 36 years at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel General Offices as an Internal Auditor. William was an avid bowler. He was in the Bellaire Bowling Association Hall of Fame, was the winner of the 60th Peterson Classic, was awarded, along with his wife, the 920th Point of Life Award by President G.H.W. Bush for their outstanding volunteer service to the community. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served in WWII and Korea. Bill's proudest moments were his dedication to the Bridgeport Boosters and athletes of Bridgeport High School. He was awarded the Thomas Rataiczak Scorekeeper/Timekeeper award, served 30 years as a basketball scorekeeper, was the 200 Club Treasurer, and is a member of the Bridgeport High School Wall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Pahl; son, Dean Pahl; and brother, Donald Pahl. William is survived by his daughter, Brenda Lovell, and her husband, David of Columbus, OH; sister, Phyllis Dunkel of PA; brother Fred Pahl of CA; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Stump, Amanda Lovell, Eric Perzanowski; four great-grandchildren, Emily Vince, Justin Salzman, Tommy Pike, Felicia Stump; and one great-great grandchild, Levi Salzman. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 15th from 2pm until 8pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH 43912 where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am with Pastor Dan Nelson officiating and a eulogy by Bertha Crane. Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH with full military honors conducted by the Belmont County Veteran's Association.
