William Patrick "Pat" Dorsey, 64, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Liza's Place Valley Hospice Care Facility, Wheeling, WV. He was born July 14, 1946 in Martins Ferry a son of the late William H. and Jeanne (Gaffney) Dorsey. Pat was a retired Corrections Officer for the Florida State Dept. of Corrections and a former Martins Ferry Police Officer. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. During his time in the Navy he was proud that he came in third place at the World Long Mediterranean Race in Naples, Italy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his previous wife Gloria Hammac-Szember. Surviving are his wife Brenda S. (Orzolek) Dorsey, two daughters Kelly (Tim) Johnson and Summer Dudzik both of Martins Ferry, a step-son Trevor (Christie) Dudzik of Atlanta, GA, three brothers Bill (Haydee) Dorsey of Orlando, FL, Dan (Beth) Dorsey of Powell, OH, and Rob (Dar) Dorsey of Massillon, OH, two sisters Pamela Dorsey of Columbus, OH and Elva (Mike) Chambers of Winter Park, FL, three grandchildren Dorsey and Jacob Moore and Clay Johnson, a step-grandchild Sierra Dudzik and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH with Ministers Rod Kasler and Henry Lewis officiating.
