William Howard Richards, 100, of Martins Ferry, passed away Monday, January 4th, 2021 in his residence.  He was born on December 7, 1920 in Martins Ferry a son of the late, Howard and Lelia (Roth) Richards.  He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp and the United States Army during WWII.  Bill was the oldest living member of the St. Clairsville Church of Christ, retired from Nickle's Bakery after 47 years of service and was a member of the Martins Ferry American Legion Post 38.  He enjoyed traveling, wood working and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Ken) Frye; 2 grandsons, Scott and Christopher Frye; 3 great granddaughters, Ashley Porter, Abigail and Rhiannon Frye and a great great grandson, Mateo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Esther (Merritt) Richards in 2010 and a sister, Marion Hamilton.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic all service will be private and officiated by Adam Davis.  Arrangements entrusted Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.  Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Clairsville Church of Christ, P.O. Box 308, St. Clairsville, OH  43950 in Bill's memory.
