SKAPIK, William J., Jr., 75, of Wolfhurst, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in Wheeling Hospital. He was born April 26, 1933, in Neffs, Ohio, a son of the late William and Julia (Sladick) Skapik, Sr. Bill was retired from Bayer Corp. in New Martinsville, W.Va., as an analyzer instrument technician. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst; Lansing Sportsman's Club; Bridgeport Forrester's Club; Neffs Rod and Gun Club; and was a longtime musician and avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Rose Skapik; and a sister, Donna Kubiak. Bill is survived by three sons, Kenneth and his wife, Cindy, of Pleasant Grove, Mark and his wife, Jasmine, of Beavercreek, and Douglas and his wife, Polly, of Neffs; a daughter, Jobi Yahnke and her husband, Dennis, of Wheeling; a brother, James Skapik; two sisters, Patty Oleska and Becky Pettit all of Shadyside, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Nicole and KJ Skapik, Katie Shaffer, Sarah Yahnke, Amber Skapik, Faith VanNorton, Craig and Gillian Donohoe and Kari and Stephanie Skapik; three great-grandchildren, Macy Skapik, Alyvia Adams and Jamison Donohoe; and several stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where Vigil services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Mucha as the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Bellaire. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
