William D. "Bill" Snyder, Sr., 82, of S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Delbert W. and Sarah E. (Clark) Snyder. He retired as Produce Manager from the former A& P Grocery Store and the Super Duper Store both of Martins Ferry. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wheeling, WV, and the former Bridgeport Eagles and American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary E. Rozell. Surviving are his wife Martha L (Eden) Sndyer, a son William (Lisa) Snyder, Jr. of Galena. OH, a daughter Mary (Dave) Nieman of Martins Ferry, three grandchildren David L. (Sarah) Snyder, Jr, Stephen W. Snyder, and Emily C. Snyder, two step-grandchildren Jeremy and Justin Nieman, a great grandson Clayton W. Snyder, and two sisters Betty Bonnell of St. Clairsville, OH, and Virginia Dickerson of Atlanta, GA. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry where services will be held Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Willits officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to EORH Long Term Care, 90 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
