WILLIAM J. "Bill" SOKOLOWSKI, SR., 71, of Wolfhurst, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Wheeling Medical Park. He was born December 20, 1936 in Bridgeport, the son of the late Joseph and Nellie (Shinko) Sokolowski. Bill retired from the former Mobay Chemical Co. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew Marc. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Ann Sokolowski; a son Bill Sokolowski, Jr. and his wife Beth of Brookside; a daughter Vicki Joslyn and her husband Jim of Richmond, VA; two brothers Joseph and his wife Clarima of Colerain and Richard of St. Clairsville; two grandchildren Frank and Lacie Sokolowski; three sisters in law Nancy Koblensky, Rita Lang and Jana Bumgardner and her husband David; nephews and nieces Tierney, Jamie, Kara, Marilyn, Joe, Ken, Kevin, Chad, Jay and Alisa. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where Vigil services will be held at 2:30 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 1 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst with Father John Mucha as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine.
