William "Bill" Walker Spoon, 79, of Firemans Lane, Colerain, OH died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at home. He was born Apr. 4, 1929 in Colerain, OH a son of the late Grady W. and Anna (Walker) Spoon. He was retired from Consol Coal Company and the H & S Hydraulic's. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry, OH serving as a Trustee, Colerain Ruritan, and Past Fire Chief of the Colerain Fire Company. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean. In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jeff Spoon. Surviving are his wife Shirley (Richards) Spoon, a son Mark Spoon of Lutz, FL, a daughter Joyce Dayton of Colerain, a brother James G. Spoon of Barnesville, OH, two sisters Alberta Padyjasek of Colerain, and Sarah (Clyde) Castilow of Bruceton Mills, WV, and his buddy Abby. Friends will be received Sunday 12 to 9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut At Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Minister's Bill Fulton and Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 Ste. Rte. 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
