Willis H. "Pap" Carey Jr. 87, of Pickerington formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Echo Manor Nursing Home Pickerington, Ohio. He was born November 15, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, a son of the late Willis H. Sr. and Esther Lee (Newsome) Carey. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Beech Bottom Plant, a veteran of WWII in the US Army, and a Protestant by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy Mae (Gooch) Carey, and a brother-in-law Robert Gregory, nieces Pamela Jean, and Renee Gregory. Willis is survived by a sister Eloise Gregory of Columbus, nieces and nephews; Darwin Carey, Cheryl Carey, Michael, Rodney, Kim, and Berna Gregory all of Columbus, and numerous great nieces and nephews, also a step- son Raymond Gooch, and two- step daughters Cheryl Williams, and Adrian McCardle. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Saturday September 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Sunday at 2 pm with Rev.
