Zelda Groves McBurney Barton, 90, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Ohio Valley Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1923, daughter of the late Leander Groves and Pearl Workman Groves. Zelda retired from Barnesville Hospital, where she had worked as a cook. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George McBurney and her second husband, John Barton; son-in-law, Danny Jefferis, and her brothers and sisters. Zelda is survived by her children, Gerry (Donna) McBurney of Piedmont, Ohio, Dennis (Wanda) McBurney, Bruce (Pam) McBurney all of Barnesville, Ohio, and Sandra Jefferis of Fulton, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, Greg, Gordon, Grant McBurney, Dennis and Denise McBurney, Diane McBurney, Jason McBurney, Angela (Steve) Fisher, Sean Jefferis, Lance (Beth) Jefferis, and Faith (Rodney) Summerford; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lola Mae (Gus) Barnhart. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Saturday 4 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio where the service will be conducted, Sunday 1 p.m. Reverend Bob Merritt will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
