Anthony C. Greiner, 86, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away February 3, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1935, in Elm Grove, WV, a son of the late Anthony J. and Elsie M. (Shaw) Greiner.
Anthony graduated from Barnesville High School in 1953. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he worked himself up to Chief Petty Officer. He was an electrician in the Navy and served our country for 20 years before retiring. After leaving the military, he worked 20 years for R & F Coal Company as an electrician and scale master. Once he retired, he attained his associate degree from Belmont College in air conditioning and refrigeration and was in the National Honor Society at the college. Anthony enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife, family, and friends and doing his hobbies, especially stained glass.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Ray and Gary Lee Greiner; sisters, Katherine Pulley and Myrtle Greiner; and daughter, Vicki Ann Shoulars.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Sharon Paroline Greiner; children, John A. Moore of Barnesville, OH, Katherine Diana (Mark) Gontz of Carlisle, S.C., Anthony R. Greiner of Barnesville, Margaret E. (Pastor Al) Hoder of Lafferty, OH, Dennis C. Greiner of Barnesville, OH; eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Anthony Greiner's visitation and service has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 11th from 4p.m. until time of services at 6p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home-Heslop Chapel, Martins Ferry. Military Honors Friday, February 12th at 11a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
