Betsy Lee (Marr) Drake, 96 of Martins Ferry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, in Wheeling. She was born on November 26, 1929, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Frank F. and Jessie (Porter) Marr.
She was retired from Wheeling Stamping in Warwood was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Martins Ferry and was a member of the former Eagles Auxiliary #456 of Martins Ferry. Betsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Her greatest joy and pride was her family. She will be remembered for her lively spirit, her unyielding kindness, and her profound impact on the lives she touched. Her legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Drake, daughters, Sharon Fithen and Karen Siburt, siblings, Charles Ruben, Earl “Babe,” Carl, and Junior Marr, Delores Lennex, Irene Turvey, Katherine Gray, Gertrude Linn, Lizzy Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish her memory are son, James (Georgette) Drake, grandchildren, Jessica (Shean) Fithen-Bridges, Erica (Amanda) Siburt, Michael (Erin) Drake, Jaron Drake, one great-granddaughter who was the apple of her eye, Sydney Bridges, and 3 special nieces who were always there to care for and give companionship to her, Joyce Taylor, Bonnie Lennex and Betsy Taylor.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 till time of funeral service at 1pm with Rev. Joe Ellis officiating at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Private burial will be on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 1pm at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
