It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Charles J. (Chuck) Morse, Jr. He was born on August 11, 1951, the son of the late Charles (Jack) and Leona Morse, Sr. in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He grew up in Dillonvale, Ohio, surrounded by family and friends. He was a proud graduate of Dillonvale High School class of 1970. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1971, following in his father’s footsteps, who served in the Pacific during WWII. Chuck served aboard the USS Detroit-AOE 4 in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets during the Vietnam War. Chuck was a lifelong member of the Legion, VFW, and the Hopedale Legion Riders.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years Mona Lee Elizabeth (Wilson) Morse, three daughters, Tracy LaRae Morse (Glen) Miller, Heather Marie Morse, Megan Elizabeth Morse (Nick) Roski, 8 grandchildren, Audrianna (Bryan) Adams, Vanessa Miller, Jessica Miller, Trisha Jo (Jared) Koski Jamie Popp, Laycie Morse, Harley Roski and Gaige Roski, sister, Kim Tomisin, sister-in-law, Janice Morse and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack, and Leona Morse, he was preceded in death by parental grandparents, Charles and Laura Morse, maternal grandparents, John and Mary Sowers, brother, Bill Ray Morse, and grandson Glen Adam Miller.
He had many professions throughout his life, but his favorite was Cleveite in Lansing, Ohio. Chuck worked at Trinity West Medical in Steubenville where he was a Hospital Transport Specialist from which he retired.
Chuck enjoyed talking with everyone and never missed a great conversation and made friends wherever he went. His favorite pastime was riding his motorcycle.
Family and friends will be received Monday, September 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio 43917. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Entombment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. The Adena American Legion will present Military Honors at the cemetery. There will also be a celebration of life scheduled at a later date.
