Connie D. (Blacker) Conaway

TOGETHER AGAIN:

Carolyn Diane “Connie” Conaway 88 passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at Belmont Manor Rehabilitation Center in St. Clairsville.  Connie was formally of Sunset Heights, Bridgeport, Ohio.  She was born on July 9, 1933, in Fairpoint, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Doris (Cordner) Blacker. 

Connie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fremont Conaway in 2009 and grandchildren Katie and Jason Hupp.  Connie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Elmore, Dwight, Lowell, John Blacker, sisters, Gerry Gorlitz, Jan Monnolly, Marsha Driscoll.   

She is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Mary) Conaway of Martins Ferry, Dayle F. (Rhonda) of Sunset Heights and 1 daughter Shelley (Dan) Campbell of Barnesville, brothers Richard (Mary) Blacker of Neffs and Denny (Pat) Blacker, Delaware. Connie leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

She was a devote member of the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and life member of OES, Sunset Heights F.D. Auxiliary, Pioneer Boat Club, Election Board Chairperson for Sunset Heights, and Mother Advisor for Bridgeport Rainbows. 

Friends may call Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 3-8 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.  Funeral Service will be Friday, July 16, 2021, at Wilson Funeral Home at 11 am.  Burial will follow at Holy Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove.
