David "Dave" Nippert, 75, of Alledonia, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in the home that he loved surrounded by family and close friends. He was born October 20, 1948 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of Lola Mae Wingrove VanDyne and the late Donald Frank Nippert.
A US Army Veteran, Dave was a man of many talents and interests which was evident by the various jobs he held over the years. He was a retired employee of #5 Mine near Powhatan. Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, his desire to help others, be they close friends or someone he had just met, and his loyalty to his family and friends. For many years as a volunteer for the Beallsville Community's "Feeding America Project,” Dave's quiet, giving spirit was most evident in the fact that he was one of the project's most devoted volunteers. He always came early, rain or shine, to help unload the food truck as well as help with the food distribution. He always stayed to the very end of the day ready to take on any job that needed done.
In addition to his father, Don Nippert, Dave was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Lynn; a sister, Linda Louden; and his step-father, Bob VanDyne. Left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother, Lola VanDyne of New Castle, are four sisters, LaDonna (Ed) Carleton of Beallsville, Barbara Brunner of Jerusalem, Rita (Jean) Donahue of Birmingham, Alabama, and Bobbie Ward, of New Castle; brothers, Donnie Nippert of Alledonia, Ernie VanDyne of Beallsville; his girlfriend, Donna Otto of Beallsville; many friends, including Rocky Richards and Jay Mitchell; also several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Dave's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private inurnment will take place at a time of the family's choosing. Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, 52728 Ohio Ave., Beallsville, Ohio 43716 is assisting the family.
On behalf of their son and brother, Dave's family would like to thank the Cancer Gas Cards Program for the financial assistance they've provided to not only Dave, but to hundreds of Cancer patients through the years. For this reason, it is their wish that in lieu of flowers and keepsakes, donations be made in Dave's memory to Cancer Gas Card's, Inc., c/o Shirley Brown, 48397 Keylor Hill Road, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
