David D. Simpson, 72 of Martins Ferry passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, surrounded by his family at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling. He was born on May 29, 1953, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late Kenneth and Evelyn (Adams) Simpson.
David retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Yorkville Plant. A man of many interests he was a train enthusiast and loved his dogs. He was a loving husband, father, pap, uncle, brother, and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cynthia who passed in 2022, sister Karen Howell, and brother, Kenneth “Bob” Simpson and a brother-in-law Lowell Hostetler.
Left to cherish his memory are his 3 sons, Jeffery (Michelle), Bradley (Kerri), Derek (Amanda) Simpson, grandchildren, Lillian, Adeline, Myles, Kendyl, Keegan and Kyler, sister, Sandra Hostetler, mother-in-law, Jenny (Josefczyk) Hritz, sister-in-law, Jeanne Simpson, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a “Memorial Prayer Service” on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 1:30 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 20 N.4th St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935, with a luncheon to follow in the church basement, followed by a private burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Ferryview Rd. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
