David A. Wilson

David A. Wilson, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Barnesville Hospital, the same hospital in which he was born on July 31, 1946 to Charles “Dutch” and Alice Moore Wilson who resided in Jerusalem, Ohio.  David had been a resident of the Walton Retirement Home in Barnesville for over 25 years.

A graduate of Beallsville High School Class of 1964, in his youth David enjoyed watching Beallsville Blue Devils basketball and also shooting baskets with other neighborhood kids at the former Jerusalem School.  He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Cleveland Guardians fan.  He will be remembered for his kind, gentle spirit and his easy smile.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Robert and Richard Wilson, an infant brother, Donald, and a sister-in-law, Jean Wilson.  Left to cherish his memory are his sister-in-law, Eleanor Wilson of Jerusalem, Ohio; three nephews, Chuck Wilson of Cameron, Ohio, Mark Wilson of Orville, Ohio, and Brad Wilson of Jerusalem, Ohio; a niece, Cathy Christy of Delaware, Ohio; also his extended family at the Walton Home.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 9 at the Walton Retirement Home, 1254 East Main Street, Barnesville from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating.  Interment will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the Walton Retirement Home, 1254 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
