Dora Elizabeth (Stinard) Horvat

Dora Elizabeth (Stinard) Horvat, 87, of Dillonvale, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the Valley Hospice Care Center North. She was born on April 19, 1937, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Loman A. “Casey” and Esta J. (Hartzell) Stinard. Dora was a member of the Smithfield Evangelical Friends Church, where she formerly served as the church secretary. She worked as a home health care aid, sold Avon, and loved sewing, baking, and most of all spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren and her dogs.

She is survived by her children, Linda (William) Zonker, Cheryl (William) Rupert, William (Marsha) Horvat and Pete (Charlotte) Horvat; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren; and her beloved dogs, Bonnie, and Clyde.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Horvat Sr.; longtime companion, Stacey Roahrig; son, Robert “Bob” Horvat; two sisters, Verda Campbell, and Jeanette Ogden; a granddaughter, Carlee; a set of twin grandsons, Sean Alexander, and Shane Gregory.

Friends may call Tuesday from 11am -1pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St, Dillonvale. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm in the funeral home with Reverand Mark Carpino officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
