Edward William Bell, 86, of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024 with his dear granddaughter, Kamryn Bell, holding his hand. He was born on August 11, 1938 to the late Edward and Mary Jane (Williams) Bell.
Edward was a coal miner and the former president of the District 6 UMWA. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and especially liked the Barracuda. He was a Nascar Racing fan and liked the Cleveland Browns. He loved cats, birds, and feeding the deer. He especially loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward W. Bell; and brother Charles Bell.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Shirley Bell; daughter, Kim (Scott) Black; daughter in law, Debra Bell; grandchildren, Taylor, Kamryn, Eddie, Howard; brother, George Bell; sister, Ocie Moore.
Visitation with be on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 3-7pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935. Military honors, provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association, will be at 6pm at the funeral home. On Saturday, December 7, 2024, visitation will be from 11-12pm at the funeral home with a 12pm service with Scott Black officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
