Eva Joan Delbrugge, 88, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away March 20, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born February 24, 1932 in Key Ridge, OH, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Edith E. (Bonar) Unterzuber. Eva was a retired cashier for I.G.A and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Eva loved to travel and became known to her family as the gallivanting granny. She enjoyed watching wild birds and had a passion for gardening. Eva had a zest for life; her laughter warmed ones heart. She would grace those around her by reciting poetry that she had learned from her mother. Eva would often serenade you and get up and dance whenever she got the chance. She loved her family and had a strong relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband, James J. Delbrugge; children, Catherine Delbrugge, Michael Delbrugge; siblings, Bryan, Richard Unterzuber, Verna Delong, Rose Cadmus and Virginia Fabry.
She is survived by her children, Joseph A. Delbrugge of Wheeling, Thomas Delbrugge of Martins Ferry, Christina (Gary) Kull of Oregon, Jennifer (Aron) Stanley of Alabama, Nancy (Rick) Chilcote of Hicksville,OH, Twila (Craig) Yanak of Morgantown, WV: brothers Douglas (Jackie) Unterzuber, and William Unterzurber; sisters, Nancy (Brian) Lyden, and Barbara (John) Richardson; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
A private service and interment will be held with burial at St. Anthony Cemetery Blaine.
