Francis G. Heaton, 100 of Bridgeport passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at Emerald Pointe Care Center. He was born September 25, 1924, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude (Wisener) Heaton.
Francis was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Martins Ferry Plant after 40 years of service. He served as Past Master of the St. Clairsville Masonic Lodge/Weyer #541, and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry. “A Long Life Well Lived.”
In addition to his parent’s, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Beatrice (Kyser) Heaton.
Surviving are his daughter, Pam (Fred) Wetzel of Wheeling, son, Garth (Nancy) Heaton of St. Clairsville, sisters, Josetta Kuckuck of Barnesville, Darlynn Berisford of Martins Ferry, brother Keith (Marla) Heaton of Denver, grandchildren, Michael (Kelli) Wetzel, Amy (Rick) Dlesk both of Wheeling, Rebecca (J.R.) Hall of Venetia. PA, great-grandchildren, Rhyder and Addyson Dlesk, Liam and Olivia Wetzel and Lily Hall along with several nieces and nephews complete the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. All services will be private, burial will take place at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove.
