Frank George Riba, 93, passed away February 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on January 13, 1932, in Hyde Park, PA to the late John and Anna Fitzak Riba.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Emma, Helen, and Paula.
Frank enlisted in the Navy at the youthful age of 16 and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Essex which was soon deployed to the Korean conflict.
Soon after being discharged from the Navy, Frank met and married the former Jessie Ann Daugherty. Together they have 4 children; Timothy (Judy), Frances (Larry), Martin, Lynn (Jack); 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Frank and his wife Jessie owned and operated Frankie’s Bakery in Brookside, Ohio for 35 years. Even after his formal retirement, he continued to receive requests for many years for his baked pastries. He delighted in creating delicious as well as beautiful creations pleasing to eat and behold.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 4 sisters; Mary, Betty, Dorothy, and Sharon, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Spring, which was his favorite time of year.
The Riba family would like to thank the Wolfhurst Fire Department for their kindness and grace during our difficult moment and Dr. Dan Jones and staff, Dr. Gregory Suero and staff for their support and kindness.
