Geary Battistelli Obituary

Geary Martin “Batman” Battistelli, 72, of Martins Ferry, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at Country Club Rehabilitation in Bellaire, Ohio.

Geary was born on August 21, 1953, and raised in Shadyside, a place he always spoke of fondly. He especially loved sharing stories of his childhood, his many lifelong friendships, and the sports he enjoyed throughout the years. A retired attorney and businessman, Geary took great pride in his education and service. He was a proud alumnus of Shadyside High School, Ohio University, and Temple University, and also served in the United States Navy Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Olga (Klihoff) Battistelli, and his brother, Carmen Battistelli.

Geary is survived by his children, Alfonse Battistelli and Angela (Shane) Melean; his brother, Dante (Lori) Battistelli; his grandchildren; and his nieces and nephew. His family extends their sincere gratitude to the medical professionals at Country Club Rehabilitation and Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate care he received.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service at noon officiated by Fr. Dan Heusel. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire.
