George Earl Hale

George Earl Hale 89, of Farmington passed away Tuesday February 18, 2025, at Wheeling Hospital. He was born September 13, 1935, in Carlisle, PA, a son of the late George and Leatha (Rouse) Hale Schrodes.

George was a retired Boilermaker Local 154 Pittsburgh, a veteran in the US Air Force in Korea, a member of the Bridgeport American Legion, and the Colerain VFW. George was a member of the Bridgeport Blue Lodge #181, the Scottish Rite of Steubenville, and the Osiris Shrine Temple of Elm Grove, George was a huge Cleveland Browns Fan, and an avid civil War Collector. He also loved to work in his own wood shop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Ricky Lee and Jeffery Lee Hale, siblings Anna Saunders, Dolores Stan, Paul and Richard Hale.

George is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Viola (Palmer) Hale, a daughter Debbie Lee Hale-Butler of Columbus, three grandchildren Samantha (Anthony) Banks of Galloway, Jessica (Cory) Carpenter of Hilliard, and Dianne Butler of Columbus, four great grandchildren Lyric, River, Aiden, and Markell.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Thursday February 27, 2025, from 11am till time of service at 1pm, with Rev James Hoff and Jessica Carpenter officiating, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. Full military Graveside service will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors 4899 Belford Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
