George Octave Souillard, 87, of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wheeling, on July 1, 1936, a son of the late George and Adeline (Rizzi) Souillard. George was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the Bridgeport Foresters and Eagles, and the Lansing Sportsman’s Club. George retired from Boyd Press after many years of service. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Pirates and Notre Dame fan.
He is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Tom) Koshenka, Angie Souillard and Michelle (Dane) Clark; a sister, Norma “Bunny” (Ray) Mascolino; two grandchildren, Daniel Clark and Denise (John) Kunz; five great grandchildren, Levi, Mykailee, Lilly, Daisy and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years Civita (Coppa) Souillard in 2022; a brother, Will and an infant brother George Souillard; two sisters, Patricia Malinowski and Dolores Gorence; and a great granddaughter, Danica.
Friends may call Thursday from 3-7 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 630 Maple St., Bridgeport, with Father John Mucha officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
