Gerald Frank Vild, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Belmont Manor. He was born on April 7, 1943, in St. Clairsville a son of the late Frank and Edna (Sklenicka) Vild. Gerald was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and West Liberty State College. He retired after many years of teaching from Bridge Street Junior High. He was also a member of the Bridgeport Foresters Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman and Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by a sister, Fran Bolock; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Vild; and several nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph Vild; a sister, Rose Marie (Gil) Rodriguez; and a brother-in-law, Richard Bolock.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.
The family of Gerald would like to express sincere thanks to Belmont Manor and Valley Hospice for the loving care that they provided to Gerald.
