Geraldine Belle (Karel) Ehni Munn

Geraldine Belle Ehni Munn, 94 of Bridgeport passed away at her residence Monday, March 11, 2024, and is now with her Lord and the many loved ones she had to let go.  Geraldine died peacefully at her home with her loved ones close.  She was born January 29, 1930, in Maynard, the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel Belle (Coates) Karel. 

Geraldine was a lifetime member of the Lansing United Methodist Church.   She retired after 34 years of service from Bridgeport Schools as a teacher’s aide.  Gerry was a beautician, a wonderful wife and mother, a caring grandmother and great-grandmother and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Gerry was a caregiver for most of her life.  She and her best friend, Betty Savarise, loved shopping.  She enjoyed traveling, when possible, with family and friends.  She loved attending family activities and her annual Coates Family reunion.  Gerry loved the many co-workers, friends, and students whose lives she touched.  She loved to read and the girls at the Bridgeport library took excellent care of suppling her with audio books. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin A. Ehni, second husband, James W. Munn, and her sister Evelyn (Jack) Conaway, niece Jill Kroflich and nephew Jeffrey Dale Conaway.   

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Edwin (Sue) Ehni, Terry (Jan) Ehni, Karel (Phil) Murad, Rob (Georgina) Munn,  Judye( late Jack) Yeager, Cheryl (Mike) Salatino, Ron (Kelly) Munn, grandchildren, Adam Ehni, Jered (Jessica) Ehni, Andrea (Kyle) Finelli, Jordan Ehni, Terra (Jesse) Blacker, Jena (Ben) Frye, Angela(Brian) Barnett, Alicyn (John) Shoplak, Brandi Munn, Brad (Sarah) Munn, Jeff (Di Anna) Yeager, Jason (Renee)Yeager, Derek (Karissa) Salatino,  great-grandchildren, Brady, Caden, Mila and Ethan Blacker, Elliott, Theo, Adeline, and Vivian Ehni, Maggie Barnett, Roman Finelli, Max and Ty Frye, Madeline (Nathaniel) Martin, Abigale Munn, Logan Yeager, Justin Yeager, and Bailey Salatino.  She is also survived by her nieces Jeri Conaway, Jacci Conaway, and nephew Jon (Jo) Conaway and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 5-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside.  Then again on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Lansing United Methodist Church ,55123 Greenbank Ave, Lansing from 10am till time of service at 11am.  Rev. John Jackson will be officiating the funeral service, burial to follow at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove.
