HELEN WALLACE
Helen White Wallace, 102, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away June 1, 2019 at Emerald Pointe Nursing Home in Barnesville. She was born December 23, 1916 in Wayne Township, Belmont County Ohio and was the daughter of the late Arthur C. (Corb) and Minnie Thompson White.
Helen married Harry Wallace, February 8, 1974 and he preceded her in death April 28, 1987. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Alan White and sister, Rowena White Bennett.
Cherishing her memory are those who survive; sisters, Jean Bennett and Judy Anderson; brothers, Starling and Donald White; many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Sunsbury (Beallsville) High School, she attended Muskingum College in the two year teacher training program. She taught briefly at Mt. Horeb and Bethesda, before teaching for 24 years at Lincoln School in Dayton, Ohio, retiring in 1974.
A centenarian, Helen loved family, traveling, and genealogy, having traced several family roots from many generations past. She was a member of the local genealogical society, the Belmont Historical Society, and Chapter 24 Order of Eastern Star.
Family and friends will be received, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, where the service for Helen will be conducted, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reverend Jean Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville.
