My beloved Dad, Jack J. Nagy, 75, of Pittsburgh, (formerly of Bethesda, OH), passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the HJ Heinz VA Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born June 3, 1946, in Wheeling, the son of the late Julius S. and Mildred (Jarek) Nagy.
Jack was retired from Ponzani’s Florist in St. Clairsville, and was a former employee of North American Coal Co. He served in the US Marine Corps for 6 years, including 2 tours in Vietnam during that time. Jack loved animals, horticulture, camping, and spending time with his loving daughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Goldie Strefas, and also two half-sisters, Betty Martone and Agnes Mehlman.
Jack is survived by his daughter Jacquelyn, and son-in-law Kevin of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by his many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road, Bridgeport, OH, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 5-8 pm, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am, with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Interment to be held in Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, OH. Full Military graveside service will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Drive, Moundsville, WV 26041. The family would like to thank the many staff members at HJ Heinz VA Hospital for their wonderful and tender care of my Dad over the past 8 years, with a special thank you to Dr. Watters for all he’s done.
