James Albert Stefan, 73 of Martins Ferry, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Martins Ferry on February 28, 1950, a son of the late John and Angela (Kanopsic) Stefan. Jim was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, where he was involved in many missionary trips to Haiti, Mexico and Romania. He worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, was the Owner and Operator of Lansing Heating and Air Conditioning and most recently was a school bus driver for Shadyside City Schools. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman and had a deep interest in history and antiques.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Connie (Ryan) Stefan; two sons, Jacob (Lindsey) Stefan and Matthew (Meredith) Stefan; three grandchildren, Luke, Micah and Mia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Timothy Stefan.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11 am in the First Christian Church, 710 Zane Hwy, Martins Ferry, with Pastors, Rod Kasler and Rich Lemal officating. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.
