Jean Elizabeth (Lude) Reitter

Jean E. Lude Reitter 77 of Steubenville, passed away Friday September 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Trinity Hospital Steubenville. She was born January 28, 1947, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Glen and Elizabeth (Thomas) Lude.

She was a retired Elementary Teacher for the Bellaire School System for over 40 years, a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Brookside, and St. Mark Lutheran Church Steubenville. Jean was a member of the State of Ohio Teachers Association, and the Belmont County Teachers Association, she also spent many a long day preparing for St. Mark 100th year Anniversary.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Clarence Reitter sons Todd (Victoria) Sommer of Huston, TX, John (Lois) Reitter of Centerburg, OH, Jim (Stephanie) Reitter of Lewis Center, OH, and Tom (Sheila) Reitter of Powell, OH, nine grandchildren, Ty Sommer, Tanna Sommer, Tate Sommer, Rory Sommer, Ian Reitter, Aiden Reitter, Alaina Reitter, Kellan Reitter, and Eleanor Reitter.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday September 20, 2024, from 4 till 8 pm, and then on Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 56381 National Road Bridgeport from from10 am till time of service at 11 am, with Pastor Nancy DeStefano officiating, interment in Union Cemetery St. Clairsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church 133 Lovers Lane Steubenville, Ohio 43953.
