John 'Johnny' Scholz

John ‘Johnny’ Scholz Jr., 64, of Dillonvale, Ohio, died August 25, 2025.

He was born October 10, 1960, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, son of the late John and Irene Scholz.

After completing school in Dillonvale, Ohio, John made his home in Naples, Florida where he worked as a drywall finisher.  He married Susan E. Byram and they had two sons.  John moved back to Dillonvale, Ohio in 2012 to care for his mother and resided in his family home until his passing.

John led a very private life, but he loved to play video games and people knew him around the world as ‘Johnny Hog’.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Scholz.

John is survived by his son John Paul (wife Nicole) Scholz and grandchildren Asher and Blaire of Naples, Florida; son Jacob Conner (wife Ellie) Scholz and grandchildren Jude and Kathryn of Muscatine, Iowa and stepdaughter Ashley Nicole Witt of Cape Coral, Florida; brother Michael (wife Joni) Scholz of Monmouth, Oregon; sister Suzanne (husband Frank) Roberts of Port Orange, Florida, brother Phillip (wife Carla) of Canton, Ohio and sister-in-law Tracy (deceased husband Charles) Scholz of Rayland, Ohio.

We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
