Joseph Alan McCutcheon, 80, of St. Clairsville, died Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1940 in Wheeling to the late Eugene and Rose (Yansen) McCutcheon. A 1958 graduate of WCCHS, Joe was an accomplished welder and metal craftsman. After retiring from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Joe was able to share his knowledge through teaching at Belmont Technical College and most recently at the Consol Coal Mine until the age of 80.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, one sister and his grandson, Brandon Joseph Dunlevy.
Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon (Templin) McCutcheon; 2 daughters, Sherrie Dunlevy (Rob) and Renee Gibson (Gregg); a son, Joe McCutchen; granddaughters, Jennica Herroon, Taylor McEnery and Jamie McCutcheon; a grandson, Trey Dunlevy; a great granddaughter, Tinnley Herroon and sisters, Ann Baudin, Peggy Justice and Marjorie Zuboski.
His family is immensely grateful for the care he and they received at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-7 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 630 Maple St., Bridgeport, with Father John Mucha officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 630 Main St. Bridgeport, Ohio 43912 or WVU Medicine Children's Hospital 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506.
