Kathy Jo (Bodnar) Barries

Kathy Jo (Bodnar) Barries, 65 of Martins Ferry, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in WVU Medicine/Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 24, 1959, in Martins Ferry the daughter of Kathleen “Teddy” (Russell) and the late Joseph George Bodnar. 

Kathy’s life was filled with wonderful memories and laughter for her family to remember her by.  She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She gave unconditional love to all that were close to her.  Kathy was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother, who took time to enjoy sunflowers and the little things in life.  She was Catholic and worked in the health care industry.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph G. Bodnar.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Ralph Barries, daughters, Megan (Taylor) Yoder, Bailey Barries, grandchildren, Angus and Delaney Yoder, her mother, Kathleen “Teddy” Bodnar, sisters, Kelley (Dennis) Berton and Krissy (Joe) Grubler, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews that complete her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.  All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
