Kenneth Craver, Jr. Obituary

Kenneth D. Craver, Jr., 57 of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away peacefully at Select Specialty Care Hospital in Wheeling, WV, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from complications of a stroke.  He was born on September 27, 1968, to Kenneth D. Craver, Sr., and Barbara (Sommers) Craver.

Kenny was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a Catholic by faith.

Kenny lived life on his own terms… with humor and free spirit that couldn’t be contained, and he enjoyed the simple joys of life.  He found happiness in the company of many friends, often gathered around a pool table with music and sharing stories and smiles.  He had a deep appreciation for the past, spending countless hours researching his family ancestry and the generations before him.  He enjoyed being outdoors for an occasional deer hunt or fishing, searching for mushrooms or metals and looking for hidden treasures like arrowheads.  Over the years, his employment consisted of Mehlman’s Cafeteria, K-Mart, and later as a postal worker in Fort Worth, TX.

Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Navy as part of HSC-7 aboard the USS John F. Kennedy.  His time in the service was a meaningful chapter of his life; one he carried with pride and honor.

In addition to his grandparents, Theresa and Lewis Sommers and Jack and Jesse Craver, he was preceded in death by his father, Ken, Sr., and his oldest son Skyler; aunts, Cynthia, and Lois Sommers; and stepbrother Jerry “Guy” Brown.

Kenny is survived by his mother, Barbara; sister, Carolee; his two beloved sons, Killian, and Caden; grandson, Aiden; niece Courtney and family; his stepmother Brenda Craver; stepsister, Vickie Bartrug, Joyce Davis, Kris Brown, Shelly Jaworski; aunt, and uncles, Jackie, and Ray Marling; cousins, Rob, Heather, and Jack Becker.

Those who know Kenny will remember his kind heart and carefree spirit and legacy of laughter and cherished memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Per the family’s wishes there will be no public visitation at this time, and all services will be held at the convenience of the family.
