Larry Sigmond “Ziggy” Nowakowski, 60, of Colerain, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, in Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Bellaire on August 7, 1961, a son of Wanda (Morris) Stropki and the late Larry Nowakowski. Larry was a member of the St. Clairsville Church of Christ, enjoyed bowling, was an avid football fan and loved his weekly dinners with his family at his home.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Emily (Curtis) Smelley and Julie Nowakowski (Lucas Straub); 3 sisters, Darlene (Ron) Baker, Karen (Rich) Thomas and Kathy (Dave) Swiger; a brother-in-law, Don Falbo; a sister-in-law, Lori Nowakowski; the absolute love of his life his granddaughter, Briella Smelley who will forever be “Pap Pap” in her eyes; his cat Zoe and many nieces, nephews and great neices.
Larry was preceded by his father; a sister, Teresa Falbo; a brother, James “NoNo” Nowakowski; a nephew, Cameron Baker; an uncle, Robert Nowakowski and his stepfather, Thomas Stropki.
Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am in the funeral home with Minister Brad Schrum officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
