Lillian "JoAnn" Bass-Smith

Lillian “JoAnn” Bass-Smith, 67, of Martins Ferry, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Ruby Medical Center, Morgantown. She was born on January 14, 1955, in Wheeling WV.  JoAnn was a member of the Bethlehem Apostolic Temple where she was the president of the Women’s Ministry. She was a graduate of West Liberty University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources. JoAnn retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel after 28 years of service in the Human Resource department.

She is survived by her son, Taylor (Angelica Templeton) Smith; mother, Mary Rancher; sister, Carmen (Tal) Hutchins; and brothers, Charles and Edward Rancher.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her first husband, Dwight Mason; second husband, Jeffrey A. Smith; and her father, Edward Rancher.

Friends may call Monday, August 22 from 12 to 1 pm in the Bethlehem Apostolic Temple, 330 Main St., Wheeling, WV. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1 pm at the church with Bishop Darrell W. Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.
