Lillian Ann (Stubock) Sommers 90, of Colerain passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, April 28, 2022, at EORH. She was born July 25, 1931, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Albert Joseph and Bertha Marie (Geimer) Stubock.
In addition to her parents Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Sommers in 2001, daughter in law Christy Sommers, sisters; Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Sullivan, Margaret A. Gosney, Ruth C. Dudzik, Dorothy E. Samol and infant sister Bertha Marie Stubock.
She was a devout member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, organizing and running the Bake Sale stand for years when Mother Cabrini held their festival, she worked as a telephone operator for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company before she married.
Surviving are her children Mark E. (Kim) Sommers of St. Clairsville, Nancy (Tony) Benedetto of Colerain, David L. Sommers of Colerain, Bruce A. (Angie) Sommers of Bethlehem, WV, grandchildren; Stephanie (Tony) Palicka, Karen Sommers, Christopher (Morgan) Sommers, Sarah, and Matthew Sommers.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Vigil Service starting at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May2, 2022 at 10am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain with Fr. Thomas Chillog and Fr. Dale Tornes officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Ferryview Rd.
