Mardell E. Sliva, 91 of Harrisville passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at Liza’s Place surrounded by her family. She was born July 4, 1934, in Dillonvale, the daughter of the late Lemoyne and Lois (McCartney) Peltz.
She was retired from the Wilson Funeral Home in Dillonvale and was a faithful member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Adena. She was a “foster-parent,” collected bells, loved sports and watching the Game Show network, but most of all watching her grandchildren in all their activities. Her spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she touched many lives through her kindness and dedication to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Sliva, Sr. in 1989, great-granddaughter, Aubree Lynn Sloan, sister, Ruth Horstman, brothers, John “Jack” Peltz and David “Gov” Peltz.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Robert J. (Cynthia) Jr., Sliva, Thomas W. (Jayne) Sliva, and Larry A. (Lori) Sliva, grandchildren; Nicole (Adam) Sloan, T.J. (Carly) Sliva, Stephanie Sliva, Chantel Sliva, and Caitlin Sliva (Fiancé Jalen Holmes), great-grandchild; Bryce Sloan, sisters-in-law, Joyce Peltz and Mary Ann Peltz, and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 3-7pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport, OH 43912, and again on Thursday, March 26, from 9:30 till time of funeral service at 10:30 with Fr. Thomas Chillog officiating. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville.
