Franke, Margaret Verna Fehr, 101, formerly of Lansing, OH, passed at Minford Retirement Center, Minford OH, Monday August 17, 2020. Born Dec.11, 1918, at her family home in Lansing, OH, Marg was the daughter of the late Margaret and Harry W. Fehr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Franke, brothers John (Bud) Fehr, William Fehr, Teddy Fehr, Alvin Fehr, and Robert Fehr, and sisters Mildred (Sis) Meek, Kathryn (Dot) Taylor, Freda (Fritz) Boner and Glenna Sabies.

Marg was a Believer who knew, quoted and lived Christ’s teachings. She was a life-long member of the Lansing Methodist Church where she taught pre-school Sunday School classes for decades, sang in the choir and served as contact person for church flowers and dinners. She especially enjoyed the weekly ladies’ gatherings called Chat and Chew.

Marg’s prior employment included Fashion Hosiery, Warwick China and MH&M Shoes in Wheeling where she was the cashier in her brother Bud’s business.

Marg’s final year and a half were spent as a resident of the Minford Retirement Center where she was loved and cared for by a Christian staff and her immediate family.

Marg is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Jean Ann Franke of Minford; her grandsons Aaron (Noel) Franke and Nathan Franke (Morgan Christopher) also of Minford, and her great-grandsons Marcus, Elliot, Sawyer and Ryan; also a sister-in-law, Jean Fehr, and several nieces and nephews. Marg was especially blessed by niece Margi Bolinger (Mark) and family who included her in their family activities and helped meet the daily needs of a 90 plus year old who chose to live independently for as long as possible.

Due to Corona virus concerns a private family service will be conducted at the Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday August 22 with Rev. John Jackson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to S.O.M.C. Hospice of Portsmouth, OH or the Lansing Methodist Church.
