Marianne Fortuna, 85, of Bridgeport, passed away on December 5, 2019 in Wheeling Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1934 in Berlin, Germany a daughter of the late Olga Stark and Simon Piatybratow. Marianne was a lifetime member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of St. Clairsville where she loved her church family and singing in the choir. She also loved singing in multiple other choirs in the Ohio Valley. She was a registered nurse for over 17 years in Cleveland and retired from the St. Clairsville City School System. She enjoyed gardening, loved her pets and making gifts and baking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her three sons, Jonathan Fortuna of Houston, TX, Mark Fortuna of Bridgeport and Daniel (Lynne) Fortuna of Uniontown; three sisters-in-law, Madelyn (Paul) Witsberger, Edith (Frank) Fortuna and Linda (Paul) Kyanko; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn (Stephen) Carkhuff and Alyssa Fortuna and two special great granddaughters, Raelynn and Deliah. Marianne was a loving mother, grand and great grandmother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul Fortuna.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd, Brookside is entrusted with the arrangements.
