Mary Lee Mayeres, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, in Wheeling Hospital. She was born in Bellaire on May 27, 1941, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Connors) Mayeres. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was a 1959 graduate of St. Johns Central High School, where she was involved in the band playing several different instruments including the bag pipes. After she graduated from high school, she was the owner/operator of a dance school in Bellaire; she worked in management for several years at the Bellaire Clinic; she was then employed for several years as a District Manager and later Operations Manager for Hardee’s Restaurants. Mary retired as a bookkeeper/accountant from Smith’s Sunoco; she was also the owner operator of the Hilltop Kennels. She was an avid family historian, enjoyed gardening and writing fiction and poetry.
Mary is survived by her son, Henry “Daniel” Mayeres; a sister, Bertha (John) Kogut; a sister-in-law, Connie Mayeres; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles (Mary) Mayeres and Richard Mayeres; and a niece, Tamara Montgomery.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 68210 Neola Ave., Bridgeport, with Father John Mucha officiating. Burial will follow in Upland Cemetery, Yorkville.
