Mary Ann (Hails) Rice

Mary Ann Rice, 81 of Bellaire, OH., passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at WVU/ Wheeling Hospital.  She was born on August 30, 1944, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Bernard Hails and Mildred (Sockman) Hails Schmidt. 

Mary Ann was a retired homemaker.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry; and remained active with the Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed baking but adored her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Rice, Sr. and grandson, Paul David Rice, III.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Paul D. Rice, Jr., daughter, Vickie Charlton, daughter-in-law, Tere Hamby, grandchildren, Kathleen Cain and Shasta Stuckey, siblings, George Hails, and Gerrie Ledger and 4 great-grandchildren complete the family. 

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 11-1 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport, OH 43912.
