Michael Panepucci, 74 years of age and at the height of his mediocre career, passed away Sunday September 19th, 2021. Mike never met a stranger in his life. His booming laugh and voice could fill a room. You could hear him well before you could see him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dante, and Esther (Marsili) Panepucci, as well as his loving wife, Sandra. They are finally reunited, and she is surely giving him an earful.
Mike is survived by his two children Sheila Barsch and Dan (Lisa) Panepucci. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Bethani, Bobby, Devin, Dylan, Damon, Domenic, and Derrick, as well as two great-grandsons, Kyler and Kolt. He also leaves behind his two sisters Lita (Francisco) Rosario and Toni (John) Granatir, his companion Sandra Meador, and his four-legged girlfriend Emmie.
Mike loved life and certainly lived his to the fullest. From joining the Army at 18 during the Vietnam Era, Mike was a Sgt. stationed in Germany. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion in Adena, as well as the VFW. By trade, he was a coal miner as well as a contractor. He eventually went on to become and electrical instructor and mine safety inspector. He built over 25 homes and could do everything from the foundation to the roof.
Mike almost made it into the 4th quarter of his life until he had to put up a fight with pancreatic cancer. He never let it keep him down for long and he was ornery and laughing until the very end. He is now riding the Harley of a lifetime up above. He will be greatly missed by all!
Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale, Ohio Friday September 24, 2021, from 3-8pm. A full military funeral by Adena American Legion Post 525 will be held on Saturday at 11am beginning at Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale and ending at Holly Memorial Gardens.
