Pastor Kenneth H. “Kenn” Sickle:
passed from this life into eternal life on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the age of 68. He was born on November 10, 1952, the only child of the late William H. and Evelyn Matheas Sickle of Mount Pleasant, Ohio.
Kenn is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Cheryl (Schwender) Murray Sickle; daughter Mallory Sickle of Columbus; sons Larry Murray of St. Clairsville, and Adam (Rose) Murray of Cottage Grove, Oregon; grandchildren Tyler, Mackenzie, Rachel and Constance Murray; many beloved friends, former colleagues and relatives.
Kenn dearly loved the members of all the churches he served as a lay pastor within the Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery, where he currently served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Clairsville.
He is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School Class of 1971, a past president of his alumni association. He was the first in his family to graduate from college with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University Class of 1976.
Kenn retired from a career in newspaper advertising, sports writing and publishing with Ogden Newspapers, and in television advertising with local television stations.
He had many hobbies and interests, including following sports statistics, growing an annual vegetable garden, geocaching, golfing, being a classic rock music connoisseur, attending local car shows as a proud owner of his 1965 Ford Falcon Sprint, “Johnny Falcon,” attentive kitty owner, and Green Bay Packer and Cincinnati Reds fanatic.
Friend will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday April 2, 2021 from 4-8 pm, and then on Saturday from 10 am till time of service at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church 110 S. Marietta St. St. Clairsville, 43950, with Rev David Demarest officiating, interment in Union Cemetery St. Clairsville. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
