Phyllis Yvonne (Taylor) Smith

Together Again,

Phyllis Yvonne (Taylor) Smith, 87 of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Sienna Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on February 3, 1938, in Rayland, Ohio the daughter of the late James W. and Betty Francis (Ozenbaugh) Taylor. 

Phyllis was retired from the Belmont Metropolitan Housing in Martins Ferry, a member of the First United Methodist Church and former member of the American Legion Bowling League.  Phyllis loved playing “Bunco” and touched the lives of all who knew her.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and friend.  May she rest in eternal peace. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Dale Smith in 1993, grandchildren, Robert Mattern and Erin Gray, brothers, Wally, Roy and Jack Taylor. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tomma (Butch Smith) Snyder, Vicki (James) Wright, George (Becky French) Snyder, Tracey (Mitch) Taylor, Kimberly (Allan) Adkins, Kelley Mattern, sister-in-law, Pat Taylor and dear friend, Phyllis Starr, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren complete her family. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11am till times of service at 3pm at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.  Rev. James Hoff will officiate the funeral service at 3 pm.  Private Burial will be at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
